Camp Craft and Cookery – Gear List

Please bring the following items to ensure a successful and productive camp experience. Gear Items listed are essential, while clothing and personal items are recommended for comfort and versatility in the field.

Shelter & Sleep System

• Oilcloth or Canvas Tarp/Tent (Minimum size: 6’ x 8’)

• Sleeping Bag and/or Wool Blankets

• Sleeping Pad

Cooking Gear

• 8”–10” Skillet (Cast iron or steel preferred)

• 64oz or 120oz Bushpot (with lid)

• Water Bottle or Canteen with Nesting Cup

• Woodsman Pantry (Empty – to be filled during instruction)

Tools & Equipment

• Belt Knife (Fixed-blade)

• Swiss Army Knife (SAK)

• Carving Jack (Recommended, not required)

• Folding Saw

• Axe

• Cold Steel Shovel

• 3/4” Auger Bit

• Leather Gloves

• Flint and Steel Kit

• Matches (Minimum 50 - standard wooden matches, non waterproof)

• Camp Lighting Kerosene (Lantern of choice)

• 1 qt Kerosene or Lamp Oil

• 1 dozen 12d Nails

• Notebook & Pencil

• 2 Shemaghs

Line & Cordage

• 100’ Paracord 550

• 100’ #36 Bank Line

Clothing & Personal Items

• Snacks as needed
• Prescribed Medications (if applicable)
• Clothing (appropriate for the weather & outdoors)
• Personal Camping Gear (including tent, etc)
• Personal Hygiene Items
• Spare Reading Glasses (if needed)

Note: All gear should be rugged and field-ready. Items will be used extensively in hands-on projects involving firecraft, shelter building, cooking, and tool use. Be prepared for extended outdoor exposure and cold-weather conditions.
