This 4 day class will be an introduction to Bushcraft the way it was intended, demonstrations and projects on many items that can be improvised from the landscape to replace items we may consider carrying on our back or that make life in camp a bit more pleasant. This class will be a 4 Day class that teaches the most basic of gear needed and also the myriad of uses for simple tools in the construction of a bush camp, for cooking, for gathering food, as well as many odds and ends to use in and around a camp while in the bush. Some topics will include, Simple Shelter Framing, Cook Apparatus and Cranes, Making cordages from the landscape, Working with natural materials like clay, simple baskets and Bark Containers, creating simple utensils from wood, simple Traps and Fishing devices, Raised beds and Thatched roofing.
Required Equipment List:
- Camping Gear-Tent or Hammock
- 6x8 Tarp Minimum (Canvas/oil Cloth)
- Bankline 1 Roll #36
- Spoon Knife
Along with food, snacks and clothing appropriate to weather
Minimum age to attend this class is 16 years of age. Any student under the age of 18 must be accompained by another paid adult student. The under student must remain with their chaperone at all times.
