Bushcraft 101 – Required Gear List

Each student will need to bring the following items to class. This equipment will ensure each student is fully prepared for training and comfortable in camp.

• Belt knife
• Pocket knife (for fine carving)
• Hatchet
• 20” buck saw blade
• Folding hand saw
• Paddle strop
• Cold Steel Shovel
• Axe puck (for sharpening)
• Milbank bag (for water filtration)
• 2QT (64oz) Bush Pot
• 32oz Water bottle and Nesting Cup
• Sail needle (#14)
• 100 ft. #36 bank line
• 100 ft. jute twine
• Flint and steel kit
• (2) 6 mil trash bags
• Work gloves
• Weather-appropriate clothing
• Snacks and food for meals
• Peterson’s Field Guide to Medicinal Plants (Eastern U.S.)
• Notebook and pencils
• Personal camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, etc.)
• Personal medications and hygiene items
