I bought it with the baking rack and used it for making breakfast sandwiches for the group. Excellent piece of gear.
Because of severe drought conditions and burn bans being in effect throughout East Tennessee, I have not been able to use my skillet in a bushcraft environment. This morning, I used it to cook up some breakfast in the house and it worked great!! Cooked up a Jimmy Dean sausage patty, a hash brown patty and two eggs! I thought that, because it wasn't seasoned yet, the food would stick but it didn't!! Clean up was a breeze too!! It's an excellent made product and well worth the money!!
I purchased the 8” skillet with broiling rack. After seasoning it with bacon fat at home I took it out for a spin over Labor Day Weekend. It didn’t disappoint. After cooking my bacon and sautéing my mushrooms I mixed in with 3 eggs and made an omelette for my first meal. It came out great! No major sticking. I ended up with a whole 3 egg omelette in one piece. My last meal was a bacon, mushroom, bean and cheese chili. Of course it was a mess but after boiling water in it, it scraped clean and packed up nice. Happy camper! I should mention that I cooked over a Soto Windmaster single stove burner and i had no issues with balance. I also cooked directly over the fire and it there was no warping. I’m looking forward to purchasing a bush pot next.
i wish the skillet was a little deeper because when the rack is in there is not much clearance between the rack and lid but its ok still can turn the lid over and it will give a little more clearance. Had a little trouble with the locking tabs on the handle not locking in properly but a little adjustment with pliers and it is good to go. Over all i am very happy with this product.
Very good quality.
