      Excellent resource

I love this filtration system and take it everywhere, even filtering sketchy tap water sources. It's ridiculously easy to use, no maintenance or backflushing issues, and doubles as a water storage device.

      Geopress facts

      1. Removing the inners from the outers - grasp the cup firmly and give the top a quarter turn, then it should pull straight out.
      2. Removing the filter element - the Grayl filter is threaded, the Geopress is a 1/4 turn dog -- with the inner assembly upside down (filter on top), hold the barrel firmly, push in on the filter and turn it counter clockwise, and it should come free.
      3. Don't fill the cup above the groove (line) on the outside - you'll get a lap full of overflow.
      4. You actually get (measured) 20 oz of purified water with each press . . . the other four ounces is at the bottom and in the filter cartridge. If you need exactly 24 oz for a Mountain House meal or something, fill 'er up and press some more.
      5. It take a bit of force to run this - so be sure to put it on the ground, put two hands on the cap, LOOSEN THE DRINKING CAPE, and lean into it.
That's it - oh, by the way, it'll fit inside the 25 oz Pathfinder cup, and will fit in almost every bottle bag or bottle holder (it surely fits in all of mine). Happy trails!

      I love this thing

Ok, so it's almost 100 bucks and it's kinda of heavy. But its definitely worth it! I have a couple of sawyer squeezes and they're good and lightweight but take forever and arent effective against chemicals (at least that's my understanding). I also have a Katadyn Hiker Pro and it's awesome. Pretty lightweight, effective against chemicals and the elements last for a long time but takes a while to get a liter of water. I would say that the Grayl is my favorite because I could filter a gallon in the time it takes my other filters to treat a liter. Also I dont HAVE to carry a bottle when I use my grayl as it holds a fair amount of water, but I still choose to anyways. So in short, save up and get one. It will pay for itself by the end of summer.

$90 is a lot for a water bottle with a filter. Until you consider everything that it filters out. This is the best priced arsenic filter I could find. Much cheaper than 65 gallons of bottled water and infinitely better for the environment.
I live in an area with volcanic activity so the water in the whole valley is terrible. Everywhere I go has arsenic and enough iron in the water that you can physically see it.
Now I take this with me everywhere. The water really does taste as good if not better than some bottled waters. Anywhere there is water there can be great tasting, clean, healthy water. I love it.
