Experience nature like never before at Pathfinder Youth Camp! Our camp is tailored to the youth, giving them the opportunity to learn basic emergency skills and how to interact with the micro systems in the Eastern woodlands. Through exciting project-based activities, your kids will develop a passion and appreciation for the outdoors. Make life-long memories and come join us for an unforgettable adventure!

2024 -July 5th thru 8th

FREE to first 30 signups which includes: 1 youth ages 8-16 and one Parent. Additional adults are $100.00.

 2 meals per day provided (some group cooking).

Youth classes:

  • Knife and Saw Safety (All participants)
  • Basic kit building (All participants)
  • Rope coral (All participants)
  • Making pace Beads (All participants)
  • Lashing Bipods and Tripods (All participants)
  • Emergency Shelter kit and Construction (2 groups ages 8-12 and ages 13-16)
  • Fire building (2 groups ages 8-12 and ages 13-16)
  • Camp cooking (All participants)
  • Building a simple sundial (ages 8-12)
  • Building an Ottomani Sun Compass (ages 12-16)
  • Basic compass Navigation and Compass Course (2 groups ages 8-12 and ages 13-16)
  • Tree identification walk (All participants in 2 groups)
  • Resource and nature walk (All participants in 2 groups)
  • Track identification and Casting (All participants)
  • Animal skull identification (2 groups ages 8-12 and ages 13-16)
  • Scavenger hunt (2 groups ages 8-12 and ages 13-16)

Basic Kit Needed (kit per participant)

  • NO KNIVES AND NO WEAPONS OF ANY KIND (Tools provided by the Camp)
  • Items to camp primitive (tents only)
  • Snacks
  • Metal Water bottle
  • Small daypack
  • Whistle
  • Camp stove (optional)
  • Rain gear
  • Proper Shoes (No Sandals, flip flops, or Crocs)
  • Pencils for taking notes and journaling.
  • Gloves (gardening type or leather)
  • Hat (protection from sun)
  • Sun block
  • Bug spray

 

    Exxon Gas Station located at 7575 Rte. 327 Wellston, OH 45692 (740) 384-4767 at 8am on the first day of class (unless otherwise noted in the individual class description). A Pathfinder Instructor will be there to meet you. From there you will follow the instructor in your vehicle to the school property.

    Cabins are NOW AVAILABLE for rent at The Pathfinder School for all Classes and Events located at the Pathfinder School! 

     

    The following options are:

    A. Opossum Hollow - 12x16 Bunkhouse

    1. 8 Bunks are available
    2. Each bunk can be rented individually at the rate of $50.00 (total) for a 3-day class, or $75.00 (total) for a 4-day class.
    3. Bunks will be sold on a first come first served basis and paid for at the time the reservation is made. 
    4. For availability, reservations and questions please e-mail - coyoteruncabins@gmail.com
    5. Cancellation Policy: A reserved bunk must be cancelled no later than 3 weeks prior to the first day of class to receive a refund.
    6. You may arrive at your reserved cabin the day prior to any course after 3PM (reservations only).
    7. All gear must be removed by 8:00 AM the last day of the course.

     

    B. Fox Den - 10x14 cabin

    This cabin can be reserved in two ways.

    1. A family/group can reserve the cabin (up to 4 people) - $150 (total) for a 3-day class or $250 (total) for a 4-day class. To receive the family/group rate, the cabin must be reserved prior to the first day of class.
    2. Fox Den can only be reserved prior to the first day of class by a family or group.
    3. If the cabin is NOT reserved the first day of any course, the individual bunks may be rented at the rate of $50.00 (total) for a 3-dayclass, or $75.00 (total) for a 4-day class.
    4. For availability, reservations and questions please e-mail - coyoteruncabins@gmail.com
    5. Cancellation Policy: A reserved cabin must be cancelled no later than 3 weeks prior to the first day of class to receive a refund.
    6. You may arrive at your reserved cabin the day prior to any course after 3PM (reservations only).

    All gear must be removed by 8:00 AM the last day of the course.

    NOTE:

    Please bring you own sleeping gear (all linens, pillows, blankets).

    Each cabin has a covered porch and private fire pit.

    There is an outhouse style latrine in close walking distance.

    Vehicles will be parked in the normal parking area and gear will need to be walked to the cabins - approximately 200 yards.

    If you need to cancel..

    Once you purchase a class for The Pathfinder School, or for a Self Reliance Outfitters store event, you have up to 14 days before the event or class to cancel and receive a refund. This provides us time to open the spot for someone else to purchase. 

    Any cancellations past that threshold will not be eligible for a refund. 

    If you do not show up for a class or event your registration fees are forfeited and no refunds or store credits will be issued.

    If a class gets canceled...

    We require a minimum of 5 to 10 students to conduct a class (depending on the class).  If a class needs to be cancelled due to an insufficient number of registrations, you will be contacted by phone or email. You will then have the option to transfer to another class (if available), receive a store gift card, or a refund.

    Please note: The Pathfinder School LLC is not responsible for travel expenses, airline tickets, or other accommodations if a class is cancelled.
