awesome

this knife is awesome. its not too heavy, not too light, so it isnt tiring using it. I have been using it so far for thinning thicker young trees/saplings for making quick bows, taking down the belly. much better and easier to handle than a hatchet for that task. I could see it as a good de-limbing tool too, either for de-limbing smaller trees, or for help clearing a path through the woods.

PKS Forest tool is a great knife!

I'm really pleased with this knife. I'm surprised there was so little info on it in the knife community on youtube. I thank the Bearded Green Beret for tuning me into this great find. This is the first time I've purchased a made-to-order blade and it was well worth the wait. Nice straight blade with no warp, strong convex edge, really satisfying micarta handle scales, a natural forge-patina finish make this the knife I like to just pull out of the sheath to look at. That doesn't mean it's decorative thought. I Iike the way I can drop to the bottom of the hand-and-a-half handle length when I want to do heavy chopping, and choke up to the top of the handle for more precision chopping or all the way up to the edge for more delicate knife work. Great tool and great craftsmanship from PKS.

This thing’s a beast!

The Forest Tool by PKS just appealed to me as a serious all around tool to take into the woods with me. I like the honest design and the maple scales give it a timeless quality that I enjoy. The main surprise when I received it was not it’s size, though this thing is a beast, but it’s quality. The fit and finish is impressive and the edge is excellent. The sheath itself is a work of art, too.
