  1. excellent

Posted by Aaron on 19th Sep 2014

Just got mine in the mail about a week ago. Immediately started field testing it. Took about 10 strikes on the ferro rod before the handle came off haha. I just thought back to Dave's video talking about it and he said expect that to happen. Some duct tape for a handle and its all better. Its kinda heavy for a fine carving knife but it can be done. Makes great feather sticks. It processes wood great. Feels great. The sheath is of good quality. The leather backing is slightly off to one side but its maybe 1/16" off. But no biggy. The lock mechanism is a great touch. Its hard to move it up and down is the leather backing is pushed against it like if you were sitting down but just a little movement of the hips fixes that. All in all its a great knife. Its a bit pricey but its supposed to last a life time. Will continue to shop here.

PS. The newspaper wrapping it came with are the sports scores if anyone needs that info-I can help you out. haha. That and shredded cardboard is going in my firekit :)

  3. my favorite one tool option.

Posted by David Willis on 25th Jun 2014

My wonderful girlfriend bought me this knife for my 35th birthday in 2013. I have used it exclusively since then and I feel like I can write a educated review now. The Scandi grind takes a bit to get used to but once you get the hang of the angle it is a pleasure to use. The scandi grind also took some time to learn to sharpen properly. The knife feels good in your hand an has never given me hot spots or blisters. that being said it comes razor sharp and holds the edge well. the shipping was fast and easy. This is a bullet proof tool pull the trigger, you won't regret it.

  4. Great initial impression

Posted by Adog on 9th Jun 2014

You know how they say, "Don't bring a knife to a gun fight." ? With this knife, you might actually be able to do that and do just fine! I'm looking forward to testing it in the field.

  5. Quality control?

Posted by Daz Turner on 21st May 2014

I've wanted this knife in my collection for quiet some time. I ordered the knife and it arrived within two weeks - I must add it has travelled all the way across the Atlantic to the UK.
The knife is well balanced and looks like it will last forever.
I was a little disappointed that the grind is off on my model (I must have been sent the previous reviewers return?) So much so the if you look at the cutting edge, edge on, it actually twists from the left to the right as you look at it.
I would have sent it back but paying another £80 in shipping (+ more import tax) wouldn't be worth the hassle. I would have expected more from a product with the reputation of BHK.
This being said, I will slowly work on the blade with my water stones and it should be usable in a while.
The sheath system is excellent and probably the best out there.

  6. This could be the last knife I ever purchase!

Posted by Bird on 10th May 2014

We'll first off, I have never purchased an expensive knife. Most of the knives I have are $75 or less. I saw one of his videos describing the benefits of a high quality knife so I decided to purchase one after reading the great reviews.

Once I received it, I haven't been able to put it down. The weight balance is super, the handle is so comfortable and the blade is incredible! Very sharp and high quality, this thing is a beast. It looks indestructible!! This is a knife that would last forever if taken care of. True craftsmanship.

This is my first purchase on pathfinderstore and extremely satisfied. Great job to Dave and his team! Just put in another order to create my day/hike emergency pack to cover the 10c's. You rock Dave!!

  7. Hard working rugged knife

Posted by john on 31st Mar 2014

I saved for this knife and when it showed up at my door 3 days after I ordered it I was impressed from the care in wrapping it to ship to the way the knife felt in my hand to me it feels smaller and lighter then it really is and thats a good thing ...it.splits wood like a champ went from batoning to making a feather board to kindling and it still shaved the hair off my arm ...I will get YEARS of work out of this knife. ....GREAT job Blind horse! ..and to self reliance outfitters for carrying it and To Dave for turning me on to them ....
